Before starting a cold calling campaign for you, I need the following:
- Script/talking points - I will edit the script as I always start my cold calling with the following: “Hi it’s Jennifer….. just to be up front with you…. this is a cold call….did I catch you at a bad time?”
- Three pain points of your current clients and how you help with those pain points.
- List of common questions you receive and a cheat sheet on how to answer those questions.
- List of competitors and how you compare to them.
- A minimum of 250 contacts you want to be called on in an Excel spreadsheet.
I’m VERY careful not to ask for too much information as I will become deadly and kill the cold call. My objective is to just get a foot in the door. If the prospect asks questions about pricing etc. I will deflect and say “These are great questions! Do you have your calendar handy? Let’s set up a 20-minute conversation with our sales expert who can go through all your questions you have”.
